My name is Hjörvar Steinn Grétarsson and I am a Grandmaster, currently the highest-rated player in Iceland. I made a rapid rise to the Grandmaster title in a short burst in my late teens. In lessons, I will teach you the approach that led me to make these strides in chess. My focus is on how to approach thinking about the game and instilling good habits, like having a strong awareness of the opponent's ideas. Prophylactic thinking is a huge element of every strong player's thought process in chess. By absorbing my thought process, you will quickly develop a much deeper approach to looking at positions, which translates to better chess with practice.
